Back in 2003, David and Tricia Niven opened a little coffee and sweets shop with one simple goal: to share their love of a great caramel latte and create a place where community could thrive. Their dream was more than just about serving a cup of coffee; it was about bringing people together.
Today their daughter, Taylor Trabold, carries on the legacy with a team, many of whom have been with us for years, who share the same passion for coffee, sandwiches, and making each guest feel like family.
Within moments, floodwater destroyed everything we had built over 20+ years. What followed wasn't just a story of loss. It became a story of resilience and the incredible strength of a small-town community: donations, volunteer hours, encouraging messages, and fellow local businesses who kept us going when the road ahead felt impossible.
You came back for breakfast. You came back for lunch. You came back for your morning coffees and your afternoon pick-me-ups. You brought your friends and family. You sat in our living rooms, caught up with old friends, made new memories, and filled our café with the sounds we had missed so dearly.
Thank you for bringing us home.
With love and gratitude, David, Tricia & TaylorReopening came with a very substantial loan. Every dollar donated goes directly toward paying it down, so DT's can do more than recover. It can thrive for years to come.
Gifts of $1,000 or more are honored with a personalized plaque on our wall.
