20 Years of Brewing Memories, One Cup at a Time

Welcome to DT's Blue Ridge Java, where every cup tells a story, and every sip feels like home. What started as a dream in the hearts of two passionate individuals—my parents—has blossomed into a warm and welcoming space for friends, neighbors, and visitors from all walks of life, passing through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Twenty years ago, my parents opened the doors of this little coffee and sweets shop with one simple goal: to share their love of a great caramel latte and create a place where community could thrive. Their dream was more than just about serving a cup of coffee; it was about bringing people together, creating a space for connection, and offering a warm place to pause and enjoy life's simple pleasures.

As the years have gone by, the world around us has changed, but the heart of our coffee shop has remained the same. We’ve grown, and so have the relationships we’ve built with our customers. Many of you have been with us since the beginning—some of you even watched us grow up! Others have recently discovered the warmth of our shop, but whether you’re a longtime regular or a first-time visitor, we’re honored to have you in our little corner of the world.

Today, offering an ever-growing menu of sandwiches and baked goods that are as delicious as they are comforting. Our loyal regulars know just how special the sandwiches here are—whether it's a Tricia's Bounty, our homemade egg salad(my grandmother's secret recipe), or a warm cup of soup filled with all the right flavors, there's something for everyone to enjoy. We’ve seen so many friendships begin over a shared sandwich, and there’s no better feeling than knowing we’ve played a small part in making someone’s day a little brighter.

As I carry on the legacy my parents began, we remain deeply rooted in the values that made DT's special in the first place: quality, care, and a sense of community. Our team—many of whom have been with us for years—share my parents' passion for coffee, sandwiches, and their love for making each guest feel like family.

Having celebrated two decades of service, we look back on the countless conversations, the laughter, and even the quiet moments shared over a cup of coffee. We’re grateful for the opportunity to continue this tradition and excited for what the future holds.

Thank you for being a part of our story. Here’s to the next 20 years of brewing, baking, and building community—one cup, one sandwich, and one smile at a time.

With gratitude,
Taylor Trabold and the DT's family
