One Year Back Home

As we approach one full year since DT’s Blue Ridge Java reopened its doors in our home on August 27, 2025, we find ourselves reflecting on everything it took to get here - and, more than anything, on the people who helped bring us back.

One year ago, we finally turned the key, reopened the doors, and welcomed our community back into the space we had worked so hard to rebuild.

And you came back.

You came back for breakfast. You came back for lunch. You came back for your morning coffees and your afternoon pick-me-ups. You brought your friends and family. You sat in our living rooms, caught up with old friends, made new memories, and filled our café with the sounds we had missed so dearly.

There are simply no words big enough to express our gratitude for what this community has done for us.

After Hurricane Helene took everything from us, you helped us find our way back. You donated. You volunteered. You shared our story. You encouraged us when the road ahead seemed impossibly long. And when the day finally came to reopen our doors, you showed up. You welcomed us home. And you have continued to show up every day since.

Our cups overflow with gratitude every single day simply because we get to be here - back at the grind, doing what we love, in the place we call home.

Thank you for bringing us home.

 

The Rebuild Continues

While so much has changed since the storm, one thing remains: we are still recovering.

Reopening our doors was a tremendous milestone, but it came with a tremendous financial commitment. In order to complete the rebuild and get DT’s back up and running, we had to take out a very substantial loan.

We are working hard every day to pay that loan down and recover from the losses Hurricane Helene left behind.

That is why we are still accepting donations toward our rebuild and recovery. Every dollar donated goes directly toward the rebuild loan.

Your generosity can help us reduce that burden, strengthen our business, and give DT’s Blue Ridge Java the opportunity not simply to recover, but to thrive for many years to come.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has already contributed to this effort, and to everyone who continues to support us by stopping in for a cup of coffee, bringing a friend, ordering a meal, shopping our coffee and merchandise, sharing our story, or simply choosing to support a small local business.

It all means the world to us.
