We’re Coming Home: Help DT's Blue Ridge Java Finish Rebuilding After Hurricane Helene

Dear Friends, Neighbors, and Supporters,

Over the past year, our beloved coffee shop and café, a downtown Spruce Pine staple for more than 20 years, faced unimaginable loss. When Hurricane Helene brought devastating floodwaters to our community, our space was overwhelmed by 10 feet of rushing water. In a matter of moments, everything we had built was swept away, not just equipment and furniture, but the warm, welcoming gathering place that meant so much to many.

DT’s Blue Ridge Java has always been more than just a coffee shop. It has been a space filled with connection, creativity, and community, a home away from home. For two decades, we had the privilege of serving you, getting to know your stories, and being part of your everyday moments. Losing that space was heartbreaking.

But we never gave up.

Thanks to the incredible support from our community, family, friends, and generous donors, we began the long and challenging journey to rebuild. And now, we’re proud to share that we’re almost fully reopened and operational at our original location in downtown Spruce Pine. While the physical rebuild is nearing completion, we are continuing to raise funds to cover the remaining costs and expenses incurred throughout the recovery process.

Your support has already made a world of difference, and we’re asking for just a little more help to bring this journey to a close. We’ve launched a final fundraising push to help pay off the rebuilding costs, replace essential equipment, and ensure we’re here for years to come.
